Everyone needs at least some insurance. When the time comes to get a new policy, it may be an overwhelming experience to find the right insurance company and the right cover.
We want to make this process a bit easier for you, therefore have compiled a list of all major insurance providers in New Zealand.
In the table below you can find all major insurance companies in an alphabetical order. For each company we also list types of cover and policies they offer.
You can click on any column and sort it in ascending or descending order. This will help you to group insurance companies that are providing the same type of policies.
Please also note that many insurance brokers offer polices under their name, but the cover is in fact provided by another company.
Our list includes only insurance companies who directly provide cover, not the middlemen.

*These insurance companies are offering cover only through their network of brokers.
It means that you can get their policy, but they won’t deal with you directly. The only way to get their policy is via intermediaries.
An Example is Allianz. They are offering travel insurance through 1Cover – you may have seen a lots of TV ads. 1Cover will issue a travel policy document and will also deal with any claims.
